The Executive Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Hon. (Mrs.) Akon Michael Asuquo has reiterated the commitment of her administration to improve and consolidate the development of the local government area.
The chairman stated this when she, accompanied by her husband, Elder Michael Asuquo and family, led members of the Executive, Legislative Council and other stakeholders to a Thanksgiving Service at the New Apostolic Church, Ikot Ebre-Asutan, Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A on Sunday, 14th November, 2021.
According to the chairman, as someone who has found grace and love in the sight of God to be called upon to serve her people, she will always do so conscientiously to ensure that expectations are made as well as new legacies created.
Mrs. Asuquo said the thanksgiving service was to openly celebrate God for his grace and mercies upon her life and family as well as the local government area since she came on board as the servant leader of the council.
The chairman used the occasion to thank members of the Executive, Legislative Council and other stakeholders in the local government for their tremendous support, counsel and cooperation in the administration of the council.
She extoled the wife of the state governor, Dr. (Mrs) Martha Udom Emmanuel for her immeasurable moral and financial support to the womenfolk in the state, particularly for impacting lives through her pet project – Family Empowerment and Youth Re-orientation Programme (FEYREP).
Mrs. Asuquo, who donated N200,000 to support development in the New Apostolic Church, Ikot Ebre-Asutan, urged churches and clerics to constantly pray for the peace, unity and progress of the local government, state and the nation.
The thanksgiving service attracted chairmen of local government councils who turned up to back the Executive Chairman, Hon (Mrs) Akon Michael Asuquo and her spouse – Elder Michael Asuquo. They included Rt. Hon Emma Obot and his wife; Member Representing Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Elder Aniekan Uko; Hon. Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Linus Nkan, represented by Comrade Ubong Ekanem; Prince Uwem Ita Etuk,Political Leader,Ibesikpo Asutan/Uyo Federal Constituency. Deaconess Mrs Uduak Effiong Essien, wife of the Head Service, Akwa Ibom state.
Officials of the council, who attended the epoch event with the Executive Chairman, were the vice chairman and spouse – Hon Evan Edidiong Inyang; the Council Secretary – Elder Emem Akpan; Head of Local Government Service – Mr Victor Daniel, councillor and Supervisors Director of Admin and General Services – Mrs Uduak Hezekiah – Director Budget, Planning, Research & Statistics – Mr Emmanuel Udoh Director SDEISC – Mrs Uduak Udo Director of Health – Mrs Ekemini Udofia.
