As part of the avowed commitment of the present leadership of the Akwa Ibom State Local Government Service Commission to effectively train and retrain all categories of workers in her employ, the commission has concluded plans to partner with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to expose all information officers working in the 31 Local Government Councils to a -two-day intensive capacity building training.
This was the outcome of the courtesy visit by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Local Government Information Chapel (LOGIC) 2022 Chapel Week Committee to the Chairman of the Commission, Rt. Hon. Monday Eyo in his office.
The Commission Chairman commended the leadership of the chapel for being passionate in the training of her members noting that the present commission is poised to train and retrain her employees and as such will partner and support capacity building programmes geared towards sharpening the administrative skills of her employees for effective and productive service delivery.
Earlier, the Committee led by the Chairman of the Chapel Comrade Roseline Etukudo intimated the Commission Chairman of the forthcoming Chapel week and the resolved of the planning committee to centre this year’s Chapel week on capacity building of both the Information Officers and the Media Aides to Chairmen of Councils
Revealing the Chapel Week to the Commission Chairman, the Chairman of the LOGIC Week Planning Committee, Comrade Gabriel Ekaidem said that the Chapel Week with the theme “EFFECTIVE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT FOR GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT THE ROLE OF INFORMATION OFFICERS billed to commence on Monda,y April 11 to Tuesday 12, 2022 will be the first of its kind as notable professionals in the Communication field will be resource persons.
Comrade Ekaidem also listed professional areas that participants will be trained on and the resource persons

The training which will take place in the LGSC auditorium, 322 Oron Road, and Conference Hall AGMAC Hotels, Akwa Efak, off Udo Udoma Avenue respectively will be declared open by the Chairman, AKS Local Government Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Monday Eyo.
