The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested Caroline Udeme, a fake Police Officer who has been defrauding traders in the State
According to the press release dated 29th March 2022 and signed by the Akwa Ibom State Police PPRO, SP Odiko Macdon (ANIPR) the suspect before her arrest has defrauded unsuspecting Loveth Ifechineke‘f’ and Joy Joseph ‘f’ all of Itam market of cash and items worth over five hundred thousand naira (N500, 000.00)
The release also stated that the suspect had perfected plans to defraud more traders before she ran out of luck and was arrested by the Police.
The suspect has confessed to the crime and said that she was recruited and trained alongside 9 others for one month
“In her confessionary statement, she alleged that about ten of them were recruited and trained in one of the Eastern States for one Month”
Furthermore, The Commissioner of Police, CP ANDREW AMIENGHEME, fdc has ordered a wider investigation into the case to bring others who are still at large to book and also warned those impersonating Members of the Force to stop forthwith or face the full wrath of the law.
The 24-year-old Caroline Udeme, a resident of Idoro road in Uyo Local Government Area was arrested on 15th March 2022 in a Police Constable uniform and Police ID card and will be arraigned in court soon.
