NULGE PRESIDENT PAYS MONTHLY ALLOWANCE TO INDIGENT VOLUNTEER  IN URUAN L.G.COUNCIL Roseline Etukudo

Comrade Anestina Iweh, with Mrs Patricia Udofia

For two months running, Mrs. Patricia Asukwo James, a native of  Ita Uruan, in Uraun Local Government Area has got reasons to thank God as she made the list as one of the beneficiaries of Comrade Anestina Jeremiah Iweh’s, the State President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE) milk of human kindness

The State President on Monday, January 31, 2022, during the Council’s birthday celebration of staff born in  January took to the podium to announce her decision to take up the payment of five thousand Naira (N5,000) monthly allowance to Mrs. Patricia for one year as a memorial of her 51st birthday celebration.

According to the NULGE boss, “ I have been wondering what her motivation is. She comes to the office before 8 AM, cleans the premises, sweeps offices, and runs errand for any staff who requires her services without a frown on her face. I have been having the burden in my heart on how to reward her and today, I have decided to pay her N5,000 every month. If it was those days when councils were still employing Junior staff, I would have recommended her for employment.

Mrs. Patricia, a middle-aged woman had been a regular face in Uruan Local Government Council Secretariat since 2019. Her presence on the council premises as early as  8 AM on every working day has made her assumed the duty of a cleaner unofficially without pay. Information gathered from her though not detailed due to her mental challenge revealed that she has never been a staff of the Unified  Local Government Service though she confessed she would have loved to be employed to continue her services in the local  government council

In a similar development, the state president had on the  December 22, 2021 during staff End- of- the -year Get- together at  Etinan Local Government Council  announced her decision to pay Ten Thousand Naira  (N10,000) monthly allowance to Mrs. Mercy Nathaniel, a junior staff in Etinan Local Government Council who was conferred  with the most dedicated and hard-working staff award in Etinan Local Government Council in  2021 by Etinan branch of NULGE for a period of  one year
