ONNA Local Government Area has donated land to the Akwa Ibom State Judiciary for the construction of a Magistrate Court in the area.
The Chairman of ONNA Local Government Area, Hon (Elder) Iniabasi Ekanem handed over the land to the representatives of the judiciary led by Mrs. Akon Jude Akpan, at the site in Abat on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021.
Hon. Ekanem thanked the team for their prompt response and reiterated the council’s willingness to give more lands for the siting of meaningful projects in the area
In her remarks, the representative of the Judiciary Mrs. Akon Jude Akpan thanked the council Chairman for the foresight and resolve to provide land for the building of a Magistrate Court in the area and assured that work would start on the land soon
Mrs. Akpan noted that it was necessary to have a Magistrate Court in the area following the demolition of the former court due to road construction.
The Executive Chairman was accompanied by the Vice-Chairman, Hon Princewill Johnny, Council Secretary, Mr. Obot Umoetuk, Head of Local Government Service, Supervisors, and Director of Works.
