
No fewer than 5 new cars were presented by the Executive Chairman, Udung Uko Local Government Area, Hon (Prince) Atanang Osung to principal officers of the council, on Thursday, 2nd September, 2021 at the Council Secretariat, Eyofin,
Presentating the cars , the Executive Chairman said the vehicles were provided to help them function effectively in their official assignment.
According to the council helmsman, the presentation was necessitated by none availability of serviceable official vehicles for council officials to use
“Can you imagine that before now there was not even a single serviceable official vehicle left for Council officials. Not even one utility vehicle was left in the Council.”
The Council boss described as unacceptable a situation where people entrusted with the common patrimony of the people abused such trust at the detriment of the people.
He expressed optimism that the vehicles will help the council officers step up their performances at their duty post.
According to the Chairman, pausity of fund cannot stop him from delivering on his campaign promises and his determination to transform the Council and make life better for the people.
Atanang asserted that his mission in Udung Uko is not to amass wealth for himself but to transform the area for the benefit of all and restated his commitment to leave Udung Uko better than he met it.
He stated that the mandate Udung Uko people gave him is so dear to his heart, promising to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring the security of lives and property so that the people can go about their legitimate businesses without any fear of intimidation, kidnapping and robbery.
Prince Atanang posited that he will not relent in his oars to deliver dividends of democracy to the his people and also bring government closer to people by making them feel the impact of governance.
Responding, the Leader of Udung Uko Legislative Council, Hon Okon Edet Isuambuk expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s magnanimity and stated that the vehicle will enhance the discharge of his duties for the benefit of Udung Uko people.
He assured the Chairman of a robust and rancour-free legislative and executive relationship to make Udung Uko great again.
The Head of Service, Mrs Affiong Ebieme, thanked the Chairman for his patriotism and determination to transform the Council as he pledged the unalloyed support of all the staffs of the council to the Chairman to realise his lofty dreams for the people.
Mrs Ebieme who described the car presentation as uncommon milestone in the history of Udung Uko, stressed that the council has taken a different shape since the inauguration of Hon. Atanang as the Executive Chairman of Udung Uko.
The Council boss also presented cars to the Vice Chairman; Hon.(Mrs) Mfon Etim Umoh, the Council Secretary; Hon. Victor Anwanakak, and one official back-up car for the Chairman.
