NSIT IBOM CHAIRMAN APPLUADS NIGERIA POLICE: SUES FOR CONTINUED COLLABORATION- Emaido Affia

The Executive Chairman, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Eric Akpan has expressed satisfaction with the unrelenting assistance Nsit Ibom enjoys from the Police force.

Rt. Hon. Akpan gave the commendation while receiving the State police commissioner, CP. ANDREW Amiengheme in his office, Friday, 13th August 2021.

The Council boss thanked the DPO for Nsit Ibom LGA CSP. Emeka Ekebuike for his effort in stemming crime rate across the LG and pledged his continued support to the police.

Commenting on the occasional political rift in some areas of the LG, Hon. Akpan blamed it on the political interference of some village heads in choosing youth leaders. An act that continually threatens peaceful coexistence in those political units.

He assured the CP of his commitment to curbing the trend and also appealed for an additional operational vehicle for the divisional station in Afaha Offiong.

The police commissioner who was on a familiarization tour to the LG called for unity and commitment from all in the area in the fight against crime. Stressing that the security of lives and properties should be everyone’s business.

He observed with dismay the surge in cult-related activities in some schools across the state and called for a review of family units. Adding that the family unit has the responsibility in grooming and instilling good behavior in every child and encouraged parents to be relentless.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Provost of Akwa Ibom State College of Education, Afaha Nsit, Dr. Daniel Udo lauded the Police boss in his fight against crime in the state.

He also thanked the DPO, the DSS, SIB, and other security operatives for their collective support to ensuring a peaceful atmosphere in and around the tertiary institutions in the LG.

Dr. Udo however pleaded with the CP for the issuance of a directive, demanding thorough scrutiny of students seeking leadership positions in the institutions ,decrying the barbaric trend of forcefully initiating vulnerable students into cultism.
