HON. UKOBOT FLAGS OFF PROJECT HOPE INITIATIVE IN IBIONO IBOM. … Urges Indigenes To Participate Fully In The Program.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Hon. Comr. Nsikanabasi Ukobot has flagged off a skill acquisition program for Youths, Men, and Women of the Area The program christened “Project Hope Initiative ” is aimed at tackling unemployment and youth restiveness in the area through manpower development.

The program will train beneficiaries in various skills such as; Fashion Design, Photography, Hair Dressing, Catering, Make-up/Makeover, Automobile Service, Welding and Fabrication, Tilling, Plumbing, Paint Production, Interior design, Electronic and Electrical Installation etc. However, the Council Chairman urged Ibiono Ibom Indigenes who are between 18-45 years old to take advantage of this opportunity and participate fully in this exercise.

The registration process which is billed to take place in all the zones in Ibiono Ibom, will commence today Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Primary School Afua, for Northern Ibiono Ibom, from 10 am to 4 pm. Similarly, the registration exercise will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Primary School, Use Ndon, for Ibiono Ibom Western and will continue in Eastern Ibiono, Southern, Central, and Ikpanya from next week.

The Skill Acquisition Program is in partnership with Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). According to the Collation Officer of the project, Mr. Andrew Edet, interested persons are to come for registration with the following items; One Passport photograph, School or Vocational Certificate, Bank Details, and BVN. The exercise is 100% FREE. It’s noteworthy that The Council Chairman has taken care of the logistics. Beneficiaries are not expected to pay any fee for registration.
