The Executive Chairman, Esit Eket Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Iniobong Robson has made history as the first Local Government Chairman in Akwa Ibom State to approve the payment of allowance to workers of his council. According to him, this good gesture is to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
Speaking at the end of an in-house quarterly performance improvement workshop organized by the council for its staff, Rt Hon. Iniobong Robson, represented by the Vice Chairman, Rt. Hon. Samuel Itama directed that N10,000 allowance be paid to all Esit Eket Local Government Council staff in August 2023.
Robson stated that the goodwill was in line with his commitments to improving the welfare of the council’s staff and equally key into the A.R. I.S.E agenda of his Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.
While commending the magnanimity of the Executive Chairman, the Head of Local Government service, Elder Udo Edemeka, said that Rt. Hon. Iniobong Robson is renowned for his impactful and heart-touching policies to staff and the people of Esit Eket Local Government Area.
He noted that the Executive Chairman has consistently paid imprest to statutory officers, including the payment of bereavements and other allowances to deserving staff.
The event’s high point was the presentation of the certificate of participation to staff who participated and completed the quarterly in-house performance improvement workshop.
