IBESIKPO ASUTAN COUNCIL CELEBRATES RT. HON ANIEKAN UKO, FOR EMERGING BEST LAWMAKER IN NIGERIA

Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Council honoured Rt. Hon. Aniekan Uko for his recognition as the best state LAW MAKER in Nigeria on Private Membership Bills, Constituency Outreach, and empowerment.
The House member also emerged as the Overall Best in Parliamentary practice in Nigeria by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN ) in conjunction with Papyrus Magazine.

In her remarks, the Executive Chairman, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government, Hon (Mrs.) Akon Michael Asuquo thanked and appreciated members of the Finance and General Purpose Committee (FGPC) and the Councilors for their Sense of unity and support to honour Rt. Hon Aniekan Uko in recognition of his Sterling legislative performance as acknowledged by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PAZAN) in conjunction with Papyrus Magazine, Abuja.

Speaking further, the Council boss said she’s highly delighted that in her time as Chairman, the Council honours one of their illustrious sons who has registered an indelible mark in legislative business both in the state and the National Archives.

“I thank you specifically for the numerous women and youths you have empowered in Ibesikpo Asutan, for the cars, motorcycles, gifts during your constituency briefing/ empowerment, and the cash donations.

“For the construction of Asan Ibesikpo to immortalised our late political icon, Late Obong E . O Eyo, popularly known as (Eyo Uyo),

Today, I stand very tall on behalf of all of us to thank you for lifting the banner of Ibesikpo Asutan high, notably the recent Awards as the best state lawmaker in Nigeria.

For making us proud, may God continue to bless and lift you higher as you continue to render selfless services to humanity.” She said.

In response, the many Awards recipients and Speaking members, Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency, Rt, Hon Aniekan Uko, thanked the Chairman, Hon (Mrs.) Akon Michael Asuquo, committee members of the Finance and General Purpose Committee (FGPC) and the Legislative Council, for the honour given to him, calling for support for the incoming member and the Chairman.

“The two-term member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and Former Speaker said he feels very emotional seeing this happen, explaining that it’s not really the reception but the sentiment or reason behind it. Describing it as exceptional.

“I wish my late father was alive to witness this because, as a very little boy, I saw him design the logo of this Local Government; I mean, my father would have been very fulfilled seeing his son being honoured nationally.

For the record, my political history will not be complete if I fail to mention the one who God used in bringing me into the political limelight.

According to the elated member, “Prince Uwem Ita Etuk told me, Aniekan any day, anytime you do something and your conscience judges you aright. So please go ahead and do exactly what you want to do; forget what people will say; this advice is helped me to where I am today.”

Earlier in their separate speeches, the House of Assembly member-elect for Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency, the Paramount rulers of IBESIKPO ASUTAN, His Royal Majesty, Edidem the ( iii) Francis Ekpenyong, Rt, Hon T . O Akpan, Member-elect for Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency, (Pastor) Engr Ubong Attah, the Chapter Chairman of PDP, Ibesikpo Asutan Pastor, Uwem Etim and the leader of Ibesikpo Asutan legislative council Hon Eno Ekanem extolled Rt, Hon Aniekan Uko for his exceptional legislative prowess.
