The Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Monday Eyo has dispelled the rumour making rounds that the commission under his watch has recently employed indigenes into the service.

The Commission chairman maintained that the rumour is untrue and baseless, and attributed it to those he called mischief makers whose stock in trade is to misinform the public.

The Chairman said this while answering questions from journalists in his office recently.

He explained that the Commission conducted revalidation exercise for 723 staff that were wrongfully employed by the previous administration of the Commission.

The Chairman disclosed revalidation exercise conducted by the commission was approved by His Excellency, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State. The exercise saw 403 staff successfully screened and reassigned to various Local Government Councils and that there was no new employment conducted.

According to him, “the Commission under me has not employed any body, what we did was revalidation for the affected staff and the exercise held recently was successful”

.” We could not have done that when we did not receive approval from His Excellency, the Governor, whenever approval is given,we shall make it public”
