As part of efforts to engage and reassure concerned stakeholders of its readiness to create a medium which would serve as a voice for the 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State, the chairman of Local Government Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists comrade Roseline Etukudo in company of members of her executive and NEWS31 crew today 20th of May, 2019, embarked on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Mbo Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Asukwo Eyo.In her speech, Comrade Roseline said that the purpose of the visit was to intimate the Executive Chairman of Mbo Local Government Area of the readiness of the Chapel to come up with a newsletter “News31”, which would serve as an informative medium for the 31 Local Government Areas in the state. She added that the visit was also an opportunity for the team to share the visions and goals of the Chapel towards ensuring that News31 is birthed.She applauded the various achievements of the Council boss within his short period in office.She further highlighted the intentions of the Chapel to project a newsletter that will represent the voices of the 31 Local Government Areas, while soliciting the support and encouragement of the Council boss towards the huge task ahead.In his response, the Executive Chairman of Mbo Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Asukwo Eyo, who pledged his support for the Chapel and Project News31, expressed satisfaction and commendations for the initiative of the Chapel to have News31.He added that News31 would definitely showcase and x-ray the activities of each councils in the state, and promised to use the platform for most of the council’s publications.Also speaking, the Head of Local Government Service, Mbo Local Government Council, Mr Idorenyin Akpan who is also a member of the Chapel, thanked the Council boss for granting the team audience notwithstanding the short notice of the visit. Speaking further, he appreciated the Council boss for his staff friendly dispositions, which he said, had created a cordial working relationship between staff and the management.He however urged News31 crew to exhibit professionalism as they embark on this task and not disappoint in their reportage.
