Governor Emmanuel Donates 30 Patrol Trucks…Reactivates Joint Security Team

Governor Udom Emmanuel has donated 30 new Utility Vehicles to the security agencies in Akwa Ibom for use in combating crime.

The vehicles are the first batch of 100 patrol trucks earmarked for presentation to the security agencies.

The Governor who also presided over the security council meeting attended by all service commanders in the state, also approved the reactivation of a Joint Task Force in the state.

The Governor who noted the reports of insecurity in the state promised to continue partnering the security agencies for the safety of life and property of Akwa Ibom people.

Last Sunday while worshipping at the Latter Day Chapel, Government House, Mr Emmanuel had promised to reposition security operations in the state, and to donate new patrol trucks to the agencies to ensure a smooth yuletide for all residents in the state.

These vehicle were received by the service commanders by the Commissioner of Police, Andrew Amiengheme.

Mr Amiengheme who spoke on behalf of other service commanders assured the citizens of maximum protection during the Yuletide and beyond.

He urged citizens to call the police emergency numbers when there is an incident, and avoid sensational reportage in the media.

Earlier during the before the encement of the executive council meeting, the N 456.2 billion naira budget recently passed by the House of Assembly, was signed into law by the state chief executive, in the presence of the state lawmakers who where led by the speaker, Hon Aniekan Bassey.

According to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Comrade Ini Ememobong, “an update on the state of secondary education, post-school reopening was received from the Honourable Commissioner for Education.

“She assured that effective monitoring was ongoing and will be sustained to ensure punctuality of school attendance by students and regularity of classes by teachers.”
