
The Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibo Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Otobong Aaron, led a massive crowd of Christian faithful in the 2025 Nsit Ibom Solemn Assembly, held on January 29, 2025. The event, themed “Multiplied Grace and Peace” (2 Peter 1:2), aimed to usher in the new year and rededicate the land to God Almighty.
Chairman Otobong Aaron attributed her landslide victory in the October 5, 2024, Local Government polls to God’s unflinching grace. She also commended Governor Umo Eno’s visionary leadership, which serves as an inspiration to her administration. The chairman highlighted her achievements in the last 100 days, including infrastructure development, healthcare improvements, human capacity development, and agricultural success.
In her address, Hon. Otobong Aaron credited her overwhelming victory in the October 5, 2024 Local Government elections to God’s unwavering grace. She also expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire her administration.

“I thank God for His boundless grace, both in my life and that of my family, and for the victory in the 2024 Chairmanship election, which has enabled me to lead the people of Nsit Ibom once again. I also commend our Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for his exceptional leadership, which is a constant source of motivation for our administration,” she stated.
Hon. Aaron then outlined her key achievements over the past 100 days, spanning infrastructure, healthcare, human capacity development, and agriculture.
“Since assuming office, I’ve delivered on several projects aligned with my campaign promises and the Governor’s ARISE Agenda. The Local Government Secretariat now reflects the workings of an efficient government, with a focus on improving the environment for both our executives and staff. Additionally, we’ve made great strides in agriculture and food security, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to equip our Primary Health Centres to provide top-quality care to our people,” she added.
She also extended heartfelt appreciation to the clergy, particularly Prelate Isaiah Isong, for their tireless prayers and support for the people of Nsit Ibom, both locally and abroad, describing them as “divine watchmen.”
Apostle Nsikan Orok, delivering the sermon, delved into the scriptural reading (2 Peter 1:2), emphasizing that a strong relationship with God is the foundation for receiving His grace. He offered three key principles for fostering peace and grace: humility, righteousness, and honesty, and encouraged the faithful to treat one another with love and equality, irrespective of social or political status.

In their goodwill messages, various dignitaries, including former Council Chairman Hon. Princess Mfon Ekong, Mrs. Fumi Idongesit Nkanga, Elder Amanam Nkanga, and PDP Chapter Chairman Hon. Godwin Nathaniel, celebrated God’s blessings in Nsit Ibom and commended Hon. Otobong for her exemplary leadership and development initiatives.
The CAN Mass Choir and Nsit Ibom Council Choir uplifted the congregation with stirring musical renditions, followed by prayers for Governor Umo Eno, Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Hon. Otobong Aaron, and key stakeholders, including the youth, women, and traditional leaders.
The assembly was graced by an array of distinguished clergy from across the state, including His Eminence, Prelate Prof. Isaiah Isong, and Apostle Nsikan Orok, who delivered a sermon emphasizing the importance of relationship with God in receiving grace and peace. The event’s primepoint was a prophetic declaration for the people of Nsit Ibom, led by Prelate Prof. Isaiah Isong, which included prayers for the uprooting of negative forces and the rededication of the land to God.
