All is now set for a three-day free surgical and medical treatment for indigenes of Abak Federal Constituency, making Abak, Etim Ekpo, and Ika Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
The free medical outreach, which is sponsored by Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum (ADF), is billed to begin on Monday, 11th to Wednesday, 13th of March 2024, at the Devine Love Catholic Hospital, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.
The release was signed and made available to News31 Media and Communication Limited by the Director General of the Forum and Honourable Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo indicates that the assessment for fitness for all surgery cases will begin from the 1st to the 8th of March 2024, while picking and positioning numbers of patients for the general treatment will begin on the 7th of March 2024, respectively.
The release, therefore, invites members of the three local government areas suffering from various degrees of sickness to grab the golden opportunity and avail themselves of the benefits of the free medical outreach in the Area.
Speaking on the development, a two-term Chapter Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and political chieftain in the Etim Ekpo local government area, Pastor Edidiong Idio, described the free medical exercise as unprecedented and most laudable, noting that the gesture was part of the social corporate responsibility of the Forum to the citizenry.
Pastor Idio commended Hon. Minister Ekpo, the DG of Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum, for putting up the outreach, which, according to him, would effectively put a stop to medical challenges experienced by people of the Area.
