In line with health consciousness and dedication to the people’s well-being, The Caretaker Transition Chairman of Nsit Ibom LG Hon. (Dcns) Otobong Aaron, has donated First Aid boxes to primary and secondary schools in the area. The schools drawn from the ten wards of the LG had their principals and headteachers present to receive the health kits.
In her address, the Council boss highlighted the necessity of an immediate health care kit in every school, especially when they are out at school competitions or during sporting activities.
Her words: “I observed that some schools did not have first aid boxes during the last Independence Day celebration in the Local Government. I wondered how they managed health emergencies during intense sporting activities. That was why I thought it expedient to get these health kits to enable schools to contend with any health crisis that may arise in their respective school.”
Hon. Aaron further charged them to take good care of the equipment to enable them to serve their purposes consistently. She also pleaded with them to keep the flag of professionalism and passion synonymous with teaching flying, adding that her administration is unwavering in supporting education in the LG.
The Vice Chairman of Nsit Ibom, Mr. Mbosowo Charles, also lent his voice in urging the school heads to keep the school’s environment livable for their continual impartation of knowledge. Stressing that while the leadership of the LG thinks of ways to help, commitment to a habitable school environment is expected from them.
Responding on behalf of the principals, Mrs. Iniobong Umoh praised the council for the thoughtful donation of health kits, adding that they would be well utilized, and prayed for more wisdom for effective leadership.
Similarly, the Head of Headmasters, Bar. Mfon Abraham appreciated the Council and described the gifts as the first of its kind and uncommon. Declaring that it takes more than a leader but a mother leader who observes the insufficiencies in the school sector and tries to address them.
